Street Fighter II beta to begin today

Battle online as either Ryu or Ken.

Capcom has announced the Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix beta will begin today, Wednesday Twenty-Fifth of June Two Thousand and Eight.

Access will be offered to anyone who's purchased Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 on Xbox Live Arcade. That game costs 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60 in the old money).

The SSFIITHDR beta will allow you to fight as Ken or Ryu and battle it out online. Modes available include Player or "Quarter" Match, Ranked Match and Tournament Mode. You can also take part in offline two-player fights.

The beta will run until "around August 20th, or whenever we decide that we've had enough people using cheap moves on us online", according to Capcom.

It's only running on Xbox Live. "Sorry, PS3 kids, next time..." said Capcom, perhaps unhelpfully.

Full details of how to access the beta can be found on the Capcom blog.
