Roving Internet detectives have unearthed a trademark that SEGA filed earlier this month for a game called Sonic Rush Adventure.

However, the company was reluctant to comment on the issue this afternoon, despite convincing evidence popping up over at The Sonic Stadium that shows a screen capture of the trademark filing.

Our closest guess to what this new treasure could be is a sequel to the DS title Sonic Rush, which was released back in 2005. It turned out to be one of the best hedgehog adventures to date, but still had a long way to go before it could be considered one of the best platform games on the handheld. But, quite frankly, it could be anything. And it's also worth pointing out that companies file trademarks relatively often, and games don't always sprout out from them.

So, to be taken with a pinch of salt.
