No NiGHTS this year

Days only until January.

SEGA has confirmed that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will not be out in Europe before Christmas.

Instead, you will be able to rush to the shops in the January sales and buy it, all the time feeling a little resentful that your US counterparts have been enjoying it since 18th December - they will probably get it in their stockings. Better than our He-Man toy. Just.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is the Wii sequel to the long lost game on the long lost Dreamcast, where you fly around a dream world called Nightopia helping children get rid of their Nightmares by defeating evil creatures called Nightmaren.

It is a little like a cross between action and racing; asking you to complete complete "laps" of a map as you chase a bird holding a key that you need - leading you to all sorts of areas like underwater, up in the clouds and many more.

So far it looks to be every bit the action-platform-racing hybrid we expect, demanding a glowing account from Tom who got to play it at the Tokyo Game Show last month (and obviously most of the above is pinched from what he said about it).

Pop over to his first-impressions of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams to find out much more.
