Nintendo raises sales forecasts

Reckons future is rosy for Wii and DS.

Nintendo's feeling extra chipper, according to Bloomberg, having gazed into its crystal ball and seen even more dollar signs than usual.

The company reckons sales of the Wii will rise by 42 per cent this year to reach 26.5 million units. Game sales are also set to soar by 56 per cent to hit 186 million.

And the DS won't do too badly either - Nintendo predicts console sales of 30.5 million, while game sales should be up by 6.1 per cent at 197 million units.Overall, Nintendo's net profit is set to rise by 59 per cent to reach USD 3.8 billion.
