Nintendo brings Boom Street release date forward

Now out 28th December.

Nintendo has brought the release of Wii game Boom Street forward.

The Mario/Dragon Quest Monopoly hybrid was due out 6th January 2012. It now launches in the UK on 28th December 2011.

Boom Street is the UK name for the video game version of Japanese board game Itadaki Street. The aim of the game is to get rich quicker than your opponents through property acquisition and property investment. An in-game stock market lets you buy shares and earn dividends.

The boards are themed on Mario and Dragon Quest locations, including Starship Mario from Super Mario Galaxy and Alltrades Abbey from Dragon Quest. You can play as your Mii or pick from over 20 playable Mario and Dragon Quest characters, including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, Slime, Platypunk and Stella.

There's four-player local play on the same Wii Remote and online play over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
