OutRun2 features Richard Jacques remixes

Another reason to buy it...

SEGA has officially confirmed that OutRun2, due out this Friday n Europe and reviewed here, will feature a number of classic OutRun tunes remixed by composer Richard Jacques. And if you can't be bothered to buy the game to hear them, or fancy having them in your car or something, you can also get hold of them on a limited edition CD bagged with issue 38 of XBM magazine, which is out on October 14th.

Magical Sound Shower, Passing Breeze, Splash Wave and Last Wave have all been arranged and produced by Jacques for OutRun2, with the help of a live brass section. Having heard them in action in our review copies (such shiny, beautiful things), we'd have to say the man does a good job, and they sit nicely alongside the 2003 arcade version tunes - although you'll have to unlock some of them.

"We wanted a soundtrack for OutRun2 that was appealing to both European and North American audiences whilst maintaining the heart and soul of the original tracks," says senior SEGA Europe producer Ben Gunstone. "I firmly believe that fans of the original tracks will embrace these new versions, and agree that Richard Jacques has done a great job."

Jacques has previously contributed to Metropolis Street Racer, Jet Set Radio, Samba De Amigo and Jet Set Radio Future, and he also worked on the orchestral soundtrack for Headhunter: Redemption.
