GDC: First Serious Sam 2 shots!

World Exclusive: Croteam makes the first ever showing of the true sequel to its frantic shooter. We have the shots to prove it.

The very first images of Croteam's Serious Sam 2 arrived hot from GDC today, showing sensational levels of detail on character models.

The game, the sequel to the hugely hectic PC and Xbox first-person shooter titles, has been a closely guarded secret until today, where the Eastern European developer finally revealed details about the engine's physics capabilities.

"Enemies now act and fall like they should," said a company spokesperson. And with the sort of detail now strictly branded as next generation on display, there's every reason to be highly excited about the new action prospect.

The original games garnered mixed attention, some loving the no-nonsense DOOM style of play where the main character was swamped by enemies, while some balked at the relative simplicity of the AI.

But whatever the opinion of non-stop shooting over sneaky gameplay, there's no denying that Croteam knows what its doing in the OTT graphics department.

These are the first ever screens. We'll be updating with plenty more from GDC throughout the day.
