Konami unveils Boktai sequel

Illuminating.

The latest issue of Japanese magazine V-Jump contains the first screenshots and details of Konami's Zoku Bokua no Taiyo, the sequel to Hideo Kojima's quirky handheld project Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand.

Although the original Boktai has still yet to make it out in Europe, it's unlikely that you need a detailed recap, as the game is already as notorious as it is intriguing. Equipped with a sun sensor on the cartridge, Boktai is a vampire hunting action RPG that forces you to head outside into natural light to vanquish the photosensitive undead.

Word on the sequel seems to be simply that hero Django has visibly gained a new sword, that the sun sensor will be employed again to an even greater extent, and that the sequel is due out in Japan this summer - which is just as well really!
