SCi Entertainment has signed a deal with Gizmondo Europe which will see 12 of the British publisher's titles appear on the Gizmondo handheld, the two companies announced this morning.

The agreement gives Gizmondo rights to develop and publish games for Gizmondo based on franchises including Conflict: Vietnam, Carmageddon, Richard Burns Rally, and "an A-list 2005/2006 line-up to be announced".

"The agreement covers both currently released titles as well as those in the pipeline, and establishes the structure for continuing collaboration between the two companies," the duo said in a statement.

Gizmondo MD Carl Freer reckons the deal shows that the handheld, unveiled at Game Stars Live in September and due out later this year, is content-driven. "Gamers demand great game content, and that's precisely what this deal is about for Gizmondo," he said.

"Our agreement puts Gizmondo in a great position to meet all challengers in the handheld gaming market - not only with superb content, but also the first console-quality 3D gaming experience," he said, referring to the tech behind the unit, which includes a Samsung ARM9 400MHz processor and a new GoForce 3D 4500 NVIDIA graphics accelerator.

Gizmondo will also feature multimedia messaging, MP3 and MPEG-4 playback, a digital camera and GPRS network link-up facilities, as well as a GPS chip for location-based services and Bluetooth multiplayer support for its games.
