PSP Giga Pack price slashed

Now selling for under £190.

Good news for any Northern Irish gamers hoping to pick up a PSP Giga Pack in the near future - high street chain GameStop has slashed 25 quid off the price.

You can now pick up a pack, which includes a PSP, stand, USB cable and 1GB Memory Stick, for just £189.99 in NI branches of GameStop. The price has also been lowered to €289.99 in GameStop stores throughout the Republic of Ireland.

But outside Ireland, you'll still have to pay the full price of £214.99 or €309.99 - GameStop don't have stores in any other European countries, and there's been no official price cut by Sony.

Speaking to our sister site, GamesIndustry.biz, a Sony spokesperson said: "This is an initiative in Eire only, and it appears to be retail led and not through SCEE."

But who knows - with a bit of luck, GameStop's move might kick off a bit of a price war. At the time of writing, though, Irish GAME stores were still selling the Giga Pack for the official price... So here's hoping.

UPDATE: turns out cut price Giga Packs aren't just available in Ireland after all - in fact, you can pick one up for only £184.99 over at DigiUK.com. Bargain!
