RTS Joint Task Force formed

By Vivendi and HD.

Vivendi's planning to co-publish a new modern warfare PC RTS with HD Publishing, called, appropriately enough, Joint Task Force.

JTF features war-zones in the Middle East, South America, Central Asia and the Balkans - described as "the front lines in tomorrow's most hazardous war-zones," which is presumably worrying for the people who live there. There'll be dynamically collapsible buildings, and vehicles modelled "down to the last rivet", which is easy to believe when you note that it's developed by Mithis, the team responsible for delightfully anal space strategy title Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.

Nothing's as "gritty or immediate" as JTF according to VU's North American COO Philip O'Neill, and the screenshots are certainly both of these things - all choppers bounding across snowscapes, exploding palm trees and tanks. All of these are things we like.

It'll all be ready worldwide in 2006, and should appear under the Sierra brand. More as it explodes in our inbox-holes.
