Halo: The Master Chief Collection matchmaking fix due later this week

Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners will have to wait until later this week for a fix for the first-person shooter's ongoing matchmaking issues.

This week's content update had been planned for this Wednesday, 19th November, but it will now release later this week, developer 343 said on Halo Waypoint.

This is to allow for additional fixes and the completion of testing and Microsoft's certification process for updates.

The Xbox One exclusive has been plagued by problems since its launch last week. Chief among them is long matchmaking times.

The update will improve matchmaking performance, as well as add improvements to the user interface and stability. There are also fixes for issues specific to Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary.

Over the weekend 343 said server-side adjustments had shown a 20 per cent increase in server connectivity, but it admitted "performance is not where it needs to be".

Executive producer Dan Ayoub last week personally apologised for the problems, saying 343 was working day and night on updates. The developer has even limited the game's playlist in bid to improve matchmaking.
