Flipnote Studio coming to UK this week

Plus: DSi is fastest-selling Nintendo console.

A UK version of Flipnote Studio will be released this Friday, according to the Guardian.

The DSiWare app lets you create a virtual flipbook by drawing up to 140 pictures. You can add photos you've taken with the DSi's camera and sound effects via the mic. Flipbooks can be saved to SD card and shared using Wi-Fi Connection.

Flipnote Studio has already been out in Japan for a while, where users have uploaded more than 100,000 of their creations to the Flipnote Hatena website. Yes you can draw nobs but no there are moderators so that's a shame.

Meanwhile, over in Americaland, Nintendo exec Denise Kaigler has confirmed the DSi is the company's fastest-selling bit of hardware ever. "In just three months, Nintendo DSi has sold more than 1.7 million in the United States alone," she told IGN, quoting figures from NPD.

"After three months, the original Nintendo DS had sold nearly 1.38 million and Nintendo DS Lite had sold more than 1.07 million. Even the Wii console had sold "only" about 1.52 million after three months. So Nintendo DSi is beating them all." Smackdown.
