FemShep voice actor talks Mass Effect 3 ending, yet to record more dialogue

"Thank God I'm not a writer!"

Mass Effect 3's Jennifer Hale, voice of the female Commander Shepard, has revealed she is yet to be contacted by BioWare regarding any upcoming changes to Mass Effect 3's controversial ending.

Hale has not recorded any extra content for the game and has yet to be informed whether she will be needed to record more dialogue for BioWare's promised "initatives" to address fan furore over Mass Effect 3's finale.

"I prefer to live in denial about it because it makes me too sad," Hale told Edge when asked about the prospect of her work on Mass Effect 3 being over.

BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka recently penned an open letter to fans disgruntled at Mass Effect 3's ending promising the developer was "hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey".

"You'll hear more on this in April," he said.

With more information on the matter due within weeks, what kind of changes is BioWare likely to make? Muzyka previously stated the developer would "maintain the right balance between the artistic integrity of the original story while addressing the fan feedback we've received". No new endings, but some plot hole-filling codex entries, then?

"I have mixed feelings about [the prospect of a new ending]," Hale added. "I really respect the team and what they did and how hard they worked. And endings are hard! They're cutting new ground; the players are so involved in this game that to come up with an ending to something everyone's got their hand in is a huge challenge.

"Maybe it's going to take a little work to get everything sorted in a way that's going to make everybody happy. Thank God I'm not a writer!"
