Dragon Age: Origins gets Ultimate Edition

It only does everything.

BioWare has announced plans to wrap up all add-ons and DLC packs released for Dragon Age: Origins into one tidy package.

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition gathers together the original game, the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening expansion and all seven DLC packs. That's The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt.

BioWare estimates that adds up to a handsome saving of $114 (£73 / €84) compared to shelling out for all the content individually. Why do we buy games at launch again?

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition ships on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 29th October. Eurogamer's Oli Welsh awarded the bare-bones original a middling 6/10 when it launched last year.

Dragon Age 2, due on 11th March 2011, looks like it could be a distinct improvement.
