Dead Rising 2 may not have multiplayer

Tech producer withdraws GDC comment.

In what's becoming something of a trend, Capcom has now withdrawn a statement made about Dead Rising 2 multiplayer at GDC.

Laura Scholl, producer on the game's Mental Mill technology, told IGN overnight that she had meant to say "multiplatform" and not "multiplayer".

Originally the site - and others - reported that Scholl spoke of having 6000 characters on-screen during multiplayer sessions.

"In my 'During the Dead Rising 2' presentation at GDC this past Friday, while I was describing how Blue Castle is using mental mill technology in character development, I mistakenly referred to the game as multiplayer instead of multiplatform. I apologise for the confusion," Scholl said.

So does Dead Rising 2 have multiplayer? Capcom had no comment when we made contact this morning. We hope so though!
