Activision and Treyarch have apologised for the Call of Duty 3 map pack screw-up that saw players forking over 800 Microsoft points for a sizable premium content pack only to discover it didn't work.

The good news is that if you downloaded the "Valor Map Pack", released on 18th January, you should be able to use it properly after grabbing a new "Title Update" (patch) that you'll be prompted to download when you next load the game.

And if you happened to delete it after discovering it didn't work, we're assured that you will be able to re-download it for no additional charge.

What's more, the patch that you'll be grabbing also promises to sort out key issues to do with ranked lobbies and ranked matches, which a number of players have reportedly been experiencing.
