UPDATE: Set in "a dark, twisted future". Zombies mode confirmed.

UPDATE 10/04/2015: The recently-updated Call of Duty website has been data-mined and thus we have new information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

As reported by CharlieIntel.com, an official description for Treyarch's upcoming shooter was discovered within the source code of the Call of Duty website.

It confirms Black Ops is set "a dark, twisted future" where "the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead". So, we're going sci-fi again.

The roman numeral for three combined with the word "black" in the title make it pretty clear that this is a teaser for the third CoDBlops game. Furthermore, there's an outline of the man from the cover of the first Black Ops briefly portrayed towards the end before it promotes a full reveal on 26th April.

Treyarch's official Twitter account added "It feels good to be back. It feels even better to be #BackInBlack. Let's do this."

As discovered by CharlieIntel.com, if you scan these symbols using SnapChat, a Call of Duty-related SnapChat account is added to your friends list. We've tested this out and it works.

The Call of Duty SnapChat account currently includes a short video showing the sun shining through forest trees, with a voiceover: "Listen only to the sound of my voice."

Call of Duty tradition dictates that the next game in the series is revealed around this time of year, with a campaign debut at E3 in June during Microsoft's press conference.

Everything is pointing in the direction of Black Ops 3, then. Plus, it's Black Ops developer Treyarch's turn, following last year's entry, Sledgehammer's Advanced Warfare, and Infinity Ward's Ghosts in 2013.
