BioWare announces Mass Effect version of Risk board game
Roll again for a new ending.
Mass Effect maker BioWare has announced a version of strategy board game Risk themed around its space opera series of video games.
Risk's Mass Effect: Galaxy at War Edition will be available this autumn, BioWare revealed via its Facebook page.
"Oh yes, it's real, and it's coming this Fall!" the developer teased.
The front of the box shows art from last year's Mass Effect 3, along with an age 10+ warning.
No other information is yet known, although its fairly easy to imagine how the game's mechanic of strategic conquest could be played out across the series' galaxy map. There's no shortage of races or factions or planets or systems to stuff in.
Let's hope it's better than the dreary strategy mini-game in the Mass Effect 3 iOS app.
Earlier video game-themed versions of Risk include StarCraft Risk, Risk: Halo Wars Collector's Edition and Risk: Metal Gear Solid.
