Apple iPad 2 reveal next week

Apple will reveal the iPad 2 at a US event next week on Wednesday, 2nd March.

All Things Digital heard from "multiple sources" that the show will take place in San Francisco. But there's no word on whether Apple boss Steve Jobs, absent for health reasons, will be present.

Reports have declared the iPad 2 is slimmer, lighter and features a better resolution display than the iPad 1. There will be a front-facing and rear-facing camera, and the innards are expected to pack some serious grunt.

Apple, at last count, had shifted 15 million iPads since launch last spring. Carry on like that and iPad will start to make Gizmondo look bad.
