Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case sighted.

What looks like L.A. Noire's first DLC add-on has been outed in a retail advert.

According to a Best Buy flyer, spotted by Joystiq, the first 16 customers who purchase the game at any of the US chain's midnight launch events will receive a code to unlock the "first DLC pack", titled Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case, as soon as it's released.

There's no word yet on exactly what the add-on contains or when it will be available, but we'll update when we find out more.

Developer Bondi Games discussed DLC plans last week, hinting that there is plenty of post-launch content to come for its detective epic, due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this week.

"We've got two full desks – burglary and bunko – that never made it into the game," explained studio boss Brendan McNamara. "We've been thinking about those and whether we'll do them."

After this, the retail specific dlc and not being sure about it, I think I am going to wait for the inevitable GotY edition. Which is probably for the best as I don't have much money to spare

i know lots of people hate DLC. Would you rather have the same game come out and have no DLC and then a single much bigger Add-on pack in 6 months time like the old days?

Or just nothing at all.

And don't use the old 'But they removed it from the game' line, as you don't know if that is the case. Likely in the old days it would have been removed because it wasn't going to fit in time and then not fixed while the game was off in cert.

Actually yes cause the old days 6 month time expansion packs usually had more content than 1 years worth of DLC in msot cases. Not to say that sometimes there isn't a few DLC that's worth it but of the top of my head I couldn't tell you more than five.

DLCs are ok, but not on release date. This makes people feel like they are missing something.

Yes it should be free, but then those poor poor multi-million dollar publishers and developers would miss out on their projected profit margins for the quarter the poor dears.

If DLC is wank, that just makes it wank DLC. It doesn't make DLC as a concept wank. I'm happy to pay for bonus stuff for a great game, but it's got to be a great game in the first place. I'm more pissed off at the lack of imagination and general quality of a lot of DLC.
