Uncharted film set back indefinitely

Hopes of a 2011 release dashed.

The Hollywood adaptation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has been set back indefinitely - far beyond the 2011 release Sony had planned.

That's because director David O. Russell (Three Kings) has turned the project down, reported the LA Times. The producers and Russell couldn't agree on terms, apparently.

It's back to the drawing board for now, while the hunt for a new director - and maybe a couple of stars - begins. Could Nolan North reprise his motion-captured performance? Or perhaps Nathan Drake doppelgänger Nathan Fillion may like a bash.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was released on PS3 in November 2007, and followed sublimely by sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves last Christmas. The game sits somewhere between Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, as Sir Francis Drake descendent Nathan Drake hunts for riches in tropical locales.
