Torment: Tides of Numenera pushed to 2016

"We have full intentions on releasing the beta this year."

InXile's Torment: Tides of Numenera has been pushed to 2016. It never had a rock solid 2015 date but the hope was to have it out in quarter four.

"To maintain the quality standard we've set for ourselves, we can't rush through these final stages to get it out the door," explained the game's new project manager Chris Keenan (previous manager Kevin Saunders announced his departure in a separate part of the same post). "Instead, we're going to take the time we need on Torment: Tides of Numenera, which means we are planning a 2016 release."

The beta plan, meanwhile, is to have something out this year. "We'll keep you posted on the progress of the beta release in the upcoming updates, as we have full intentions on releasing the beta this year," said Keenan.

Keenan was project leader on Wasteland 2, and has been at inXile for 12 years. He's replacing Kevin Saunders who departs inXile having managed Torment right through Kickstarter up to the recent alpha systems test. Saunders and inXile came to the decision together, apparently. "I am proud of the project that I'm leaving in capable hands, and while I do not know what I'll do next, I look forward to new challenges and opportunities," wrote Saunders.
