The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings dated

PC gamers May be happy.

PC fantasy role-playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be released on 17th May 2011, creator CD Projekt's announced.

"We've decided to move the launch date back a few weeks to afford us more time to polish the game," said project lead Adam Badowski.

"Of course, we know that players would like to get the game as soon as possible, so we hope that they will forgive us! We strongly believe that the extra time spent polishing the title will be well worth the wait."

CD Projeckt will hold a press conference later this week to announce other bits and bobs, including details on the Collector's Edition and pre-orders. It'll also discuss DRM. Boo!

To coincide with their Eurogamer Expo 2010 developer session last month Eurogamer talked to senior producer Tomasz Gop and level designer Marek Ziemak to get the skinny on the game.
