The developer behind successful but poor shooter Sniper: Ghost Warrior has announced it is creating yet another new FPS – and it could be Sniper 2.

City Interactive offered no detail on what the game may be, but it is due out next year and is being built using Gears of War developer Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.

The news comes after City announced it had snapped up Stuart Black, the man behind classic PlayStation 2 FPS Black, following his departure from Codemasters last month.

The veteran developer's first game for City will be, "an exciting new story-driven WWII shooter that will emphasize high adventure in a genre that's become bogged down in reverence and historical accuracy."

The Unreal Engine 3 game and Black's game are in addition to two separate FPS games in development using Crytek's CryENGINE3.

So, City's making four FPS games. This afternoon a spokesperson told Eurogamer, "It could be that one of them is Sniper 2."

Sniper: Ghost Warrior is due out on PlayStation 3 early next year.
