The Skyrim Grandma will be a Skyrim follower mod before she's an Elder Scrolls 6 NPC

Shirley Curry, better known as the Skyrim Grandma, is set to appear in The Elder Scrolls 6 as an NPC. But before then she'll be available to play in Skyrim via a mod.
Shirley will be available as a Skyrim follower as part of Shirley - A Skyrim follower mod, which received a teaser trailer this week and is due out on Nexus early 2020, according to a reddit post from one of its creators.
So, what can you expect from Shirley in-game? Unique commentary on locations and situations and unique interactions with the player. Initial updates will expand the commentary. Shirley's combat style in the game reflects her combat style during her let's plays: a classic barbarian using two-handed weapons, wearing light armour plus archery for ranged attacks.
The creators of the mod said Curry gave them her blessing and has been involved with development to give voice to the character. Further down the line a quest revolving around Shirley herself will be added. "She is very lovely to work with!" the modders said.
Back on 1st April 2019 (it was no joke), we reported on Bethesda's confirmation Curry would appear in The Elder Scrolls 6 as an NPC with the heartwarming video, below:
The news came after nearly 50,000 people signed a petition to get her into the upcoming fantasy role-playing game.
If you're wondering why this is all happening, Curry is an 83-year-old with a cult following within the Skyrim community and 775,000 subscribers on YouTube. She's particularly well known for her wholesome let's plays and calling her viewers grandkids.
The petition was sparked by a comment Curry made in response to a quote from Bethesda's Pete Hines, who said The Elder Scrolls 6 wouldn't be out for a number of years. Curry lamented she'd probably be 88 by the time of the game's release, and predicted she "probably won't get to play it". Fans then set up the petition to "immortalise" her in the game, a task Bethesda was clearly happy to take on.
Now all that's left to know is whether the Skyrim Grandma will read out lore books in the mod.
"It would be nigh impossible to have the real Shirley read ALL the books available, but we very much want this to be a feature," the modders said. "We're probably going to have a specific selection of books for her to read."
Shirley will be available as a mod for both Skyrim classic and Skyrim Special Edition, with the modders aiming for an Xbox release. "Sadly a PS4 release will be impossible (blame Sony, not us!)," they said.
