Resident Evil Mercenaries VS. hits iOS

Resident Evil Mercenaries VS., an iOS take on the Capcom franchise's popular score-chasing mode, is available on the App Store now.

There are three different maps included - Dock, Fort and Castle - and three characters to choose from - Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker, each with a unique weapon configuration.

Four-way multiplayer over both wi-fi and Bluetooth has also been squeezed in.

The iPhone app – there's currently no up-scaled iPad version - is £1.79 for a limited time.

Assuming it's built on the same engine as the dismal iOS port of Resident Evil 4, you might be better off holding out for the more feature-heavy 3DS version due later this year.
