Raiden actor "in the dark" on MGS: Rising

Disgruntled actor hits out at Konami.

The actor who traditionally voices Raiden has complained that Konami has not yet asked him to reprise the role for the impending Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Quinton Flynn vented his frustrations in an interview with The Gaming Liberty, explaining that Kojima Productions hadn't returned his phone calls or emails asking whether his talents would be needed.

"I am completely in the dark. I have no answers. I have no idea," he said.

"I have not been approached in any way, shape or form. There has been no communication. There's been no information and I don't know what's going on."

The game's not due out for some time yet – maybe Konami just isn't ready to bring him in yet? Well, Flynn isn't optimistic.

"I would love for them to make that phone call. I would love for them to give me a jingle and let me know that maybe they've been working on lots of other stuff for this game and now they're ready for me. But I don't have high hopes, let's just put it that way. I'm not expecting anything."

Flynn said he would be "disappointed" and "angry" if Konami has decided to bring in new talent.

"I can't get an answer from anyone. Is this the thanks I get?"

It seems that David Hayter, the actor who voices Snake, is also out of the loop.

"David and I spoke on the phone not long ago and he asked me if I was back as Raiden and I told him that I didn't know anything and I had not been contacted. He asked me if I had heard anything about Snake and if I thought he was going to be called back. So he hasn't heard anything either.

First announced at E3 2009, a release date still hasn't been confirmed for the game, which sees Metal Gear Solid 2 protagonist Raiden take on a starring role.
