How to receive a Pikachu or Eevee with the ability to Gigantamax in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
In Pokémon Sword and Shield it's possible to receive a Pikachu and Eevee simply from having a save file for either Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let's Go Eevee! on your Nintendo Switch.
Obviously you'll receive Pikachu if the save file is for Let's Go Pikachu! and Eevee, of course, for Let's Go Eevee!
What makes these two Pokémon worth collecting, however, is their ability to Gigantamax.

How to get a special Pikachu or Eevee from playing Let's Go in Pokémon Sword and Shield
You can receive your free Pikachu or Eevee very early on during your playthrough of Pokémon Sword or Shield.
On your first journey to the city Motostoke, you'll find your train derailed by a herd of Wooloo wandering onto the tracks.
This will leave you in the train station in the Wild Area, which is also where you will receive your free Pokémon.
To the left of the barriers leading to the train is a man with brown hair, wearing a grey jacket and a blond haired woman, wearing a while shirt.
Talk to the man if you played Let's Go Eevee! and the woman if you played Let's Go Pikachu!
They'll both recognise you as having 'Let's Go experience' with either Eevee or Pikachu.
In the hopes of giving another such experience they'll gift you the Pokémon that corresponds to the version of Pokémon Let's Go that you played.

Special Pikachu and Eevee Gigantamax ability in Pokémon Sword and Shield explained
The Pikachu or Eevee you receive isn't just special because you get it for having a Let's Go file on your Nintendo Switch.
No, the Pikachu or Eevee you receive also has the ability to Gigantamax in battle. The downside, however, is that you can't evolve either of these special Pokémon.
Gigantamax is a special ability that only some Pokémon have. When it occurs the Pokémon will grow in size and their power will increase.
In this new form, the Gigantamax Pokémon will have access to a special G-Max Move, which is exclusive to that specific Pokémon.
Due to their inability to evolve, the special Pikachu or Eevee you recieve is basically a collector's item. You can have some fun experimenting with the Gigantamax form, but neither one will have any long term usefulness on your team.
You may find Pikachu useful in the second, water-type based gym, but, other than that, if you want either Pokémon to be a permanent feature on your team, you're better off looking for one you can evolve.
