Phoenix Wright spin-off Ace Attorney Investigations is out now on iOS and Android

Edge case.

Capcom's Phoenix Wright spin-off Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is now available on iOS and Android.

Ace Attorney Investigations first released on Nintendo DS back in 2009, and features prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and detective Dick Gumshoe - two of the Phoenix Wright series' more memorable secondary characters - in leading roles across five cases.

It's a broadly similar experience to the core Wright games, with plenty of crimes and cross-examinations to work through, but it notably ditches the series' familiar courtroom action for a greater focus on field investigations.

There are crime scenes to be scoured and clues to uncover, but lengthy courtroom sequences are jettisoned in favour of a more even mix of detective work and logic-busting interrogation scenes, offering a pleasing change of pace from the main games.

On iOS, you can download and play the first chapter of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth for free. If your appetite is suitably whetted, it'll cost £11.99 to unlock the remainder of the game. Over on Android, there's no free demo chapter, but you can buy the whole thing at a temporary launch discount of £8.99.

Ace Attorney Investigations' sequel, also starring Edgeworth and Gumshoe, was never released outside of Japan. Hopefully Capcom might finally be convinced to localise it if this original version does sufficiently well on mobile.
