Pac-Man confirmed for Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U

And Mr. Game and Watch?

The 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. will include another new fighter - Pac-Man, Nintendo has announced.

Namco's spherical yellow fighter can throw fruit and spawn fire hydrants. His Final Smash move appears to be his powered-up form, albeit grown to a screen-filling size.

Smash Bros. series boss Masahiro Sakurai revealed the latest addition to the games' roster last night during an E3 roundtable discussion. Namco is aiding Nintendo in the game's development, so the inclusion makes sense.

Pac-Man's introduction trailer below also includes a brief glimpse at returning fighter Mr. Game and Watch - suggesting he too will be appearing.

Yesterday saw the confirmation of Mii fighters and Palutena from the Kid Icarus series, and details on how Nintendo's Amiibo figurines would be integrated.
