Lost Odyssey demo at TGS

An hour of Mistwalker's RPG.

PlayStation 3 may be expected to dominate in terms of playable next-gen game demos at the Tokyo Game Show this week, but any Xbox 360 owners attending will at least get the chance to sample one of Mistwalker's RPG titles.

That's according to CEO Hironobu Sakaguchi, who told Famitsu Weekly that an hour-long demo of Lost Odyssey will make up part of the Xbox 360 offering during Japan's annual games showcase.

Apparently the demo is getting close to the final game's graphical quality, although the gameplay will be rather more basic than the full thing. He also noted that the finished game "will run at 30 frames per second, even when the screen is packed with armies as far as the eye can see," according to GameSpot.

Lost Odyssey has previously been described as a traditional turn-based RPG that incorporates new ideas. The main character is a chap called Kaim, who is 1000 years old. Sakaguchi reckons it'll be finished next year.

In the meantime, he hopes to ship Mistwalker's first Xbox 360 title, Blue Dragon, before the end of 2006.
