Namco has revealed more details of Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires, the forthcoming RTS game for Nintendo DS. Screenshots can be found here, and there's also a new trailer on Eurofiles.

Shogun Empires sees you playing as one of two brothers fighting for control of feudal Japan. Only by amassing huge armies, invading nearby territories and generally beating everyone who's not on your side to death can you claim the honoured title of Shogun, roughly translated as "Baddest Badass in Feudal Japan."

You can manage your armies using the DS's touch screen, giving orders, changing formations and selecting units with the stylus for "smooth, organised battles rarely seen outside of a PC real-time strategy game."

When it all gets a bit too stressful you can take time out to enjoy a range of touch screen mini-games, which involve castle sieges, sea battles and the like. And thanks to the DS's wireless capabilities, up to eight opponents can go head-to-head for epic multiplayer battles.

Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires is slated for an October release.
