Need for Speed World MMO is two years old

EA celebrates with new car and double XP.

Remember that free-to-play Need for Speed MMO, NFS World? It's two years old today.

To celebrate, EA is giving away a free item each day this week up top Friday 27th July.

Today, all players get, for free, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Also starting is the double XP week, which runs from today to Friday. You get double XP in every race event and Team Escape and cop pursuit.

Also released: the new Free Cam feature, which lets players take control of the game camera and take pictures of their virtual cars.

The rest of the week will see the release of more free items, including customised license plates, neons, vinyls and in-game currency, called SpeedBoost.

EA claims a "thriving community" of over 16 million registered players for Need for Speed World, which launched in July 2010. It was developed by Need for Speed: The Run studio EA Black Box and EA Singapore.
