Need for Speed release date spotted

Features "multiple overlapping stories".

An Xbox Games Store listing for EA's upcoming Need for Speed reboot has spilled a potential release date for the game.

Microsoft's product page detailed a 3rd November launch for the racer.

But the page was quickly removed after eagle-eyed Reddit users took note. You can see a sneaky screengrab to the right:

The game's blurb mentioned a number of features: five "ways to play" named Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw.

Need for Speed's story will meanwhile let you "carve your own unique path, via multiple overlapping stories, gaining reputation on your journey to become the ultimate icon".

Hopefully it is more entertaining than the Need for Speed movie.

The racer will be take place in a "nocturnal open world of urban car culture", in the fictional West Coast setting of Ventura Bay. Areas will include a downtown section, a harbour and canyons.

EA announced the first official details of Need for Speed last week. Developed by UK outfit Ghost Games for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Officially, it has an "autumn" launch window.
