Left 4 Dead 2 is no longer censored in Australia on Steam

It's also 75 per cent off this week.

Valve has released an update for the Australian censored version of Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam so it will now include all the cut content.

At the time of its 2009 release, Australia deemed the game too offensive for its MA 15+ rating, which was the most mature rating available for games. The ruling against EA's appeal to release the uncut version noted that there was "insufficient delineation between the depiction of the general zombies figures and the human figures as opposed to the clearly fiction 'infected' characters".

Valve noted that this new update is for folks over 18, but we're pretty sure this won't be difficult for minors to override.

The censored version of Left 4 Dead 2 omitted the gore, dismemberment, blood splatter, riot cops, and enemies being set ablaze by molotov cocktails. It also made it so corpses disappeared.

To commemorate this release of its original vision, Left 4 Dead is currently 75 per cent off on Steam until 22nd September, making the price £3.74 rather than its usual £14.99.

Now here's a video highlighting the differences between Left 4 Dead 2's censored and uncensored versions.
