Lara Croft gets App Store release

Guardian of Light ported to iOS.

Digital Tomb Raider spin-off Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be available later today on the App Store, developer Crystal Dynamics has announced.

It seems like it's a straight port of the brilliant Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network original but with revamped controls. The standard iPhone version will cost you £3.99 or there's an optimised iPad take for £5.99.

It's been ported by UK-based Ideaworks Game Studio, the same team responsible for iOS versions of the Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil franchises.

"We're thrilled to bring the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light app to iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users," said Crystal Dynamics general manager Darrell Gallagher.

"The controls have been optimised to take advantage of these amazing devices and the graphics are absolutely stunning."
