Hyper Light Drifter is coming to PC and Mac this month

Console versions to follow, new trailer.

Stylish retro action-adventure Hyper Light Drifter is coming to PC, Mac and Linux on 31st March.

There's even a Steam page set up and a glorious new trailer celebrating the impending launch.

As for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, those are set for spring. Vita and Wii U versions will follow at a yet to be announced date.

Developer Heart Machine described Hyper Light Drifter as "an action adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16-bit classics, with modernised mechanics and designs on a much grander scale."

Hyper Light Drifter was a major success on Kickstarter back in autumn 2013. The tiny independent project was looking for $27k but raised nearly 24 times that with $645,158. It's since grown in scope, seen a handful of delays, and spread its expected platform reach.

Our Chris Donlan was enraptured by Hyper Light Drifter's beta back in October 2014. "One dungeon down and I was left wanting more," he wrote in his early impressions. "I want to see how Heart Machine can build on this mean-spirited and wonderfully exacting combat - and I want to see where the light-stepping tour of artful dereliction takes us next."
