Gorgeous Norse myth themed action adventure Jotun comes to Switch next week

A Loki release.

Thunder Lotus Games' absolutely gorgeous Norse mythology themed action adventure Jotun is heading to Switch next week, on April 27th

Jotun first launched on PC back in 2015, having raised $64,265 CAD in Kickstarter funding the year before. It places you in the role of Thora, a Viking warrior that "died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla".

There's exploration and puzzle solving to be done as you traverse Jotun's beautiful hand-drawn world, but the real highlights are the boss battles against fearsome titans that end each stage.

Nintendo Switch will get an enhanced version of Jotun's Valhalla Edition which launched on PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, adding a boss-rush-themed Valhalla Mode to the original experience. Thunder Lotus says the new Switch version features "remastered" graphics, and gameplay that's been optimised for handheld mode.

Hopefully, if Jotun does the business on Switch, the console might eventually play host to Thunder Lotus Games' impressive 2017 follow-up, Sundered. That game's equally gorgeous, enormously satisfying (if rather idiosyncratic) Lovecraftian spin on the familiar Metroidvania formula, earned it a Eurogamer Recommended badge.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition will cost $14.99 USD when it comes to Switch on April 27th.
