Gears of War 4 collectibles guide - find every hidden collectible in the campaign

Here's where to find every hidden object in the new campaign.

Like every game in the series before it, Gears of War 4 collectibles are littered throughout the game's campaign. Not only do these give you an excuse to explore every nook and cranny of each blood-soaked stage, but each provides a nugget of story-info that fleshes out what's happened in the decades following the events of the Xbox 360 trilogy. (There's also a few Achievements in it, too.)

Below each are links to where to find all 50 hidden collectibles, describing at what point in each chapter you'll come across them - as specific but as spoiler-free as possible - as well as imagery that'll narrow down their location.

Other things to know about Gears of War 4 collectibles

  • Collecting every collectible in the game will unlock a total of four Achievements; Collector (5G, recovered five collectibles), Pack Rat (10G, recovered ten collectibles), Completist (15G, recovered all collectibles) and Remember the Fallen (15G, recovered all COG Tags in the campaign).
  • While COG Tags are mentioned separately in the Achievements, there is essentially no difference to how you collect them to the other trinkets you find throughout the game.
  • It's easy to miss some collectibles, especially in combat-laden sections which will load the next area once you're done. As such, it's easiest to get them as soon as you start an area than hang around the end, as once you've missed it, you have to replay that entire chapter to get it again.
  • While it's best to grab them all as you go (consult the above guides per chapter to help point you in the right direction) there's a decent chance you'll miss one or two along the way. If you do, go into your War Records on the main menu, and each collectible is listed in chronological order. Similarly, loading into a chapter or pressing pause on each chapter will tell you the total number of collectibles and how many you have.
  • Once you have grabbed that collectible, it's yours - you don't need to hit a checkpoint for it to properly 'save'. This means you don't have to remember to run over and pick it up if you die later in that playthrough, and if you're replaying specifically to get that collectible, you can freely quit out to the menu.
  • When the campaign offers you a choice of paths, there is only one instance (in Act 2, Chapter 3) where there is a collectible on each one. Thankfully, each section has you 'join' up at the end so you can rerun down the other route to get what you've missed.
  • It doesn't matter what difficulty you pick up collectibles, so it might be easiest to replay sections on Casual to speed things along.
  • In co-op, if one person finds a collectible, everyone will pick it up; someone had already found a collectible in a previous playthrough, it won't appear for then, but if the other person hasn't, it'll show up for them.
