Electronic Arts' FIFA 08 as started the new year as the number one game in the UK.

Sales across the country are down for every title in the top forty, with Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed suffering a 70 percent drop in sales, as it falls from first place to number four. Mind you, nothing is true.

Sales of the number two game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare were down 56 percent and this week's number three title The Simpsons Game saw a drop of 58 percent.

Need for Speed: ProStreet is at five this week, with Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 at six, SEGA's The Golden Compass at seven and Nintendo's More Brain Training at eight.

Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is a non-mover at nine and THQ's WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 drops from the top rope whoops I mean number seven to number ten.

GamesIndustry.biz is already an active prophet.
