EB Australia to recall Resident Evil 3D?

No save data reset reportedly to blame.

Electronics Boutique Australia is reportedly about to pull Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D from sale.

Vooks.net claimed today that the supposed decision was a response to fears surrounding the game's second-hand sale value.

"Our source says that this is due to the game not having the ability to be started fresh, meaning that any re-sell of the game is basically useless," Vooks said.

Gamers reacted angrily to the news yesterday – verified by Eurogamer – that it is impossible to delete Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D save data.

Yesterday Capcom told Eurogamer Mercenaries 3D will retain its second-hand value despite preventing gamers from deleting save data.

"The game's value at second-hand in the UK is not affected by whether or not the game can have its data reset," Capcom said.

"Customers in the UK will not experience a reduced second-hand value should they wish to trade in their purchase."
