A hefty new Brink update due out soon brings full clan support and tournament features to Splash Damage's shooter, the developer has announced.

As detailed on its official blog, you'll be able to create and manage a clan from its new Clans & Tournaments Beta Site.

Once you've registered a clan, you'll be able to access various stats, such as your current ranking, wins and losses, and upcoming match schedule. You'll be able to invite others to join your squad, toggle your Clan's recruitment status, review applications and manage member privileges.

The update also brings with it the Global Clan Ladder which will rank all clans in order, letting users set up matches with opponents of a similar skill level. Once you've set up a match, invitations will automatically be sent out to all participating players.

There'll also be tournaments to register for, each with a specific rule set.

No word yet on exactly when all this goes live, but apparently the update "is currently in the final stages of testing and will be pushed out to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC version of Brink as soon as that is complete."
