Captain Toad Nintendo Switch and 3DS demos now available

Toot.

Nintendo's adorable Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is now available to try on its two new platforms: Nintendo Switch and 3DS.

The rotatable 3D puzzle platformer can be sampled via a free demo downloadable from each console's eShop, ahead of its full release on 13th July.

Originally launched for Wii U, these new versions of the game add a fresh set of levels themed around Super Mario Odyssey, plus two-player co-op on Switch.

Don't expect too much different in the demo - although hopefully its new releases can bring Captain Toad to new, non-Wii U owning audiences.

The lamp-headed Toad leader was first seen in Super Mario Galaxy, before becoming a playable character in Super Mario 3D World, from which Treasure Tracker spun-off. Most recently, Captain Toad cameoed in Super Mario Odyssey. And next - please, Nintendo - can he be added to Smash Bros. Ultimate?

"18 years on from Super Mario 64, Nintendo's designers are still going further in their exploration of the third dimension than almost anyone else," Oli wrote in Eurogamer's Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker review.

Download links to get the demo are here for Nintendo Switch and here for 3DS.
