Battlefield: Bad Company series not in "active development"

Just in case you thought a team at DICE was secretly working on a new Battlefield: Bad Company game - it's not.
"We love the Bad Company series, but don't have it in active development," a message on the franchise's official Twitter account explained over the weekend. "Battlefield 4 is our main focus for the year."
It's not hard to see why the Bad Company series has been left by the wayside while its bigger Battlefield brother has persevered - Bad Company included humour and a strong single-player campaign, while Battlefield's serious business multiplayer is better armed to take on industry leader Call of Duty.
There's the small fact that Battlefield 3 sold a shed-load, too - pre-order numbers were 10 times that of Bad Company 2. That Battlefield: Bad Company action comedy TV show never materialised, either.
On the upside, just in case you thought a team at DICE was secretly working on a new Mirror's Edge game - it almost certainly is.
