Battlefield 3 beta in September

Battlefield 3's multiplayer beta will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this September.

The news came as DICE showed off the multiplayer for Battlefield 3 for the first time, with a brief glimpse at a map located in the centre of Paris. The visual fidelity that's wowed so far was intact, though precise details of what modes will feature were less clear.

Battlefield 3 is coming out on October 25, and EA's been aggressively pitting it against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
