Ayrton Senna joins the cast of Angry Birds Go!

Feathering the throttle.

In what may be a crossover too far, the legendary Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna is now starring in Angry Birds Go!, Rovio's kart racing game for Android and iOS.

It's certainly not the first time the Senna has featured in a game. Recently a suite of his cars were added to Gran Turismo 6 as part of an agreement with The Ayrton Senna Foundation, and those with longer memories may recall Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP 2, which came out for the Mega Drive back in 1992.

Senna's appearance in Angry Birds Go! seems a little strange - it seemingly amounts to a slightly shaggy hair-do atop a bird that hoots and hollers through races. Senna's driving technique was famous for his feathering of the throttle on the exit of corners, so maybe it's not such an ill-fitting tribute after all.
