How to defeat the Enderman in Minecraft Dungeons

Enderman will debut with a static screen effect to make their appearance more unsettling than other mobs you'll come across.

Enderman have two main characteristics to be aware of - fast movement and teleportation, two things you'll have to adapt to to take it down. When Enderman appears, it'll give chase and attack, and when you retaliate, most of the time it'll then disappear, making it a frustrating fight.

Facing an Enderman might be overwhelming, especially as it can reduce your health very quickly if it does strike you, but the key thing to remember is as long as you keep moving, you'll be safe; even though it moves at high speed, but the time it stops to attack, you'll be safely out of the way. There's no need to roll at any point!

To attack an Enderman, you have to either perform a melee attack as it is chasing towards you (before it stops to attack) or use ranged attacks, such as arrows.

Though pretty much any weapon in your arsenal can take down an Enderman with some patience and timing, some work better than others. Glaves are particularly useful, allowing you to get melee attacks at a further distance in with a lower risk of being hit.

If you have a friendly mob - such as the wolf-spawning Tasty Bone Artefact, or the bat-spawning Spelunking armour set - this can make the battle easier, as the Enderman will often target them instead of a player, giving you more freedom to attack.

No matter your loadout, it's important you clear other enemies when facing an Enderman, as you'll want to concentrate on fighting it than having to deal with arrows or other attacks.

Finally, if the Enderman doesn't reappear after teleporting, then continue progressing through the dungeon, and it will reappear again soon after.

Ultimately, if you're struggling with an Enderman, like most other mini-bosses it's technically optional fight, so you can always move past it until the health bar at the top of the screen disappears, signalling the end of the encounter.
