PlanetSide 2 PS4 closed beta starts next week

One in thousands.

The PlayStation 4 version of massively multiplayer first-person shooter PlanetSide 2 goes into closed beta on Wednesday, 25th March, its developer announced on the PlayStation blog.

To register your interest, head over to the PlanetSide 2 website and pop your name down. If selected, you'll get a beta voucher you can redeem on the PlayStation Store.

Sony sold PlanetSide developer Sony Online Entertainment to an investment management firm in February. The newly-independent developer was renamed Daybreak and set free to make games for non-PC and PlayStation platforms. It later suffered a round of layoffs.

No word yet on a potential Xbox One version of PlanetSide 2. The PC version is currently available.
