World of Warcraft and all current expansions now included in subscription

World of Warcraft's monthly subscription now unlocks access to all base game and existing expansion content, Blizzard has announced.

So, for £9.99 a month you'll be able to play everything up to and including 2016 expansion Legion and no longer have to add on anything else separately.

The caveat, obviously, is this August's big Battle for Azeroth pack. That's still a separate purchase, and priced £39.99.

Regardless, the change streamlines the process for anyone still thinking about getting into World of Warcraft now, or not caught up on everything the game's more recent additions have to offer. And frankly, in 2018, it's a much-needed move to modernise the whole offering.

Battle for Azeroth, WOW's seventh expansion, arrives on 14th August. Headline features are Warfronts, Allied Races, character-level 120, and two new zones: Zandalar and Kul Tiras. There's also a handy new item, the Heart of Azeroth, which will power up other pieces of equipment you wear.
